**What Is The Nami Wallet?**

**What Are The Differences Between Other Cardano (ADA) Wallets?**
Nami aims to differentiate itself from wallets like Daedalus by enabling users of the wallet to interact with any decentralized application or website with their funds and wallet in a secure manner. It allows far more access to Decentralized Exchanges, Decentralized Applications, and even NFT Marketplaces.

Introduction: What Is Nami?

The first step to begin the process of setting up your first Cardano Wallet on Nami is heading over to the Official Nami Website. You will then be directed to a screen that should look exactly like the picture shown below:

The Nami Wallet is not an actual desktop application, but rather a browser-based extension. It is available on Google Chrome, Brave, and Microsoft Edge as well as any “other chrome-based browser.” Make sure you have downloaded at least one of these browsers before going further into this process although most likely you already use one of the following listed above. Click on the logo prompt that matches the browser application you are using to visit the website. (For this tutorial, I will show what it is like when going through the steps through the Google Chrome browser application.)

Step One: Installation

Once you have clicked the Google Chrome Icon you should have been sent to the Chrome Web Store with a prompt asking you to “Add To Chrome”, make sure the page looks exactly like the image below and then right-click on the prompt:

Once you have clicked the “Add To Chrome” prompt, Google Chrome will prompt you again with the following:

Click the “Add Extension” prompt to head onto to the next step.

Step Two: Add To Browser

Once you have added the extension, it will download and you will need to head over to the top right of your taskbar to the extensions icon and then select the Nami Extension. Once you have selected the extension you should have a small screen appear on your browser exactly as pictured below:

Click on the “New Wallet” prompt to head onto the next step. It will then ask you to accept the Terms of Use and to ensure that no one is watching you or the screen while the seed phrase is visible as you go throughout the process of setting up your wallet. Make sure to read the Terms of Use and ensure you agree with it before signing off. Once you have done the following, accept the Terms of Use and head onto the next prompt by clicking “Continue.”

Step Three: Create New Wallet

You will the be given your Recovery Seed Phrase (essentially the only way to recover your wallet and/or funds in the event you need to restore it because your computer is broken, lost, etc. Make sure to write the Recovery Seed Phrase on a paper copy to ensure that if anything happens to your computer, you have some physical copy to ensure you can always obtain your funds in the event of an emergency. The phrase should consist of 24 randomly generated words as pictured below:

Once you have written down and/or stored the seed phrase in a secure place, click the checkmark box and the “Next” prompt.

Step Four: Recovery Phrase

It will then ask you to verify the seed phrase, or you may skip it if you would like. I suggest practicing entering it for the first time during the creation of the wallet just to better grasp what needs to be done in the event of an emergency as shown below:

Once you have succesfully verified or skipped the verification of your Recovery Phrase, you may move on to the next step.

Step Five: Verify Recovery Phrase

Once you have skipped or verified your seed phrase, you will then be directed to the page pictured below:

Write in the desired “Account Name” (this is really more for personal preference, name it what you would like). The next prompt that asks you to enter a password is a prompt to enter your Spending Password, which is how you can send and receive assets to and from the wallet. Make sure this password is stored somewhere safe as well to ensure you can withdraw or buy assets at your discretion rather than being at the mercy of a lost password. Once you are comfortable with the “Account Name” and your Spending Password is stored safely for access if need be, click the “Create Prompt” and viola. You have created your first Cardano Wallet on Nami!

Step Six: Wallet Name & Spending Password

You have successfully completed the creation of your Daedulus Crypto Wallet, congratulations! Now is the time to begin exploring Cardano and every amazing thing it has to offer, good luck on your new adventure!
