## **INTRODUCTION**

ErgoPad is a project incubator offering token IDOs which provide funding for new projects within the Ergo ecosystem. Ergopad released its own native token through an IDO (Initial Dex Offering), and users are now able to stake Ergopad tokens through smart contracts on-chain.

If you stake ErgoPad tokens and reach one of the staking tiers, you'll be given an opportunity to contribute to the DAOs of projects launched through the Ergopad platform, before they go live on any dex. Seed round contributors will receive governance tokens at a lower value than what they'll launch at on the dex and allow participation in the governance of the DAOs of various projects.

SigUSD and Erg raised by DAOs in the early contribution rounds will be used, as voted by DAO members, to build projects on the Ergo platform.

Ergopad is not an investing platform, we are here to bring people together and create DAOs which organize people's goals to build blockchain solutions on Ergo and in other related ecosystems.

Using the ergopad.io website is not the same as using the Ergo blockchain. When you use the ErgoPad website to generate transactrions for you, you'll still need to use a native Ergo wallet to send the transactions and interact with the blockchain.

Connecting your wallet on the ergopad.io website doesn't give the website any control over your funds. It stores the public address of your Ergo wallet in localStorage on your device, and will use that data to compile ergoscript contracts for you to interact with on chain. The data will never be stored on the ergopad.io servers.

We believe that all people should have full access to and full control over their finances. No government should have the right to control what someone can and can't invest in, or how they can spend their money. We also believe control of the money supply should be taken from governments, since governments have proven they don't take the responsibility seriously enough, and contiunue to choose profits for the ultra-wealthy over fairness for common people.

As the government attempts to print us out of problems of their making, the resulting inflation erodes people's buying power. Corporations continue to charge more for goods and services, while refusing to give fair wages to workers.

Beginning with Bitcoin, cryptocurrency became a financial revolution that can help free people from this cycle. While Bitcoin gave us a fantastic store of value, Ethereum proved that on-chain dApps could replace much of the financial services we traditionally have relied on investment banks and large hedge funds to provide. Anyone who has used Ethereum knows there are flaws in the design; you find out quick when a transaction costs over $80 USD in gas fees. However, it was a great proof of concept, and Ergo is here to carry that torch to the next stage of development. With a robust PoW backing, novel concepts like extended-UTXO, NIPOPOWs, and Sigma protocols, Ergo is set to be the next iteration in blockchain ecosystem solutions.

Because the eUTXO system is still in its infancy, the user experience is severly lacking in comparison to other projects like Ethereum that have had a several year head start. However, that leaves a lot of room for growth, and we would like to be part of that growth.

ErgoPad was created to generate financial backing for the developers who need it, so we can help the Ergo platform grow into a safe, accessible financial ecosystem where everyone has fair access. All dApps should provide an experience where a user's data is only shared when they want it to, and where they can leverage or spend their money any way they wish with minimal fees for doing so. Some devs don't have strong marketing skills, and other teams have a great idea and community but no devs to build it. That's where we come in. **DAO Tokens**

The ErgoPad DAO will receive 6% of the total supply of tokens. This will be released quarterly to the DAO over 6 quarters (one and a half years). The DAO will vote to determine how those tokens will be spent. Typically these tokens will be used for marketing purposes.

## **STAKING**

Staking provides a few utilities. Staking your ErgoPad tokens will generate new tokens based on the number you have staked and the emission schedule. If you reach one of the staking tiers, you'll get pool allocation which gives you an opportunity to contribute to new projects launched on ErgoPad at staker and seed round rates not available to everyone.

Staking went live on January 26th.

**Pool Allocation**

Pool allocation will be determined on a case-by-case basis for each project. Projects will have some tokens reserved for ErgoPad stakers. A staking snapshot date will be announced ahead of time, and a sign-up form will be provided. Anyone staking in a tier during that time who signed up will be eligible for their share of staker round tokens based on their pool weight.

**Token Emission**

There will be 400M total ErgoPad tokens, and 321M of them will be sent to stakers over a 3 year period. The APY will vary day-to-day based on the number of staked tokens and the total tokens left.

**Early Unstaking Fees**

There are fees for unstaking early, in order to prevent people from staking the day before a snapshot, then unstaking the day after. Staking Ergopad tokens should be an indication that you are interested in contributing to project development over a long-term time-frame. The intention behind this project is to group together and help build the Ergo blockchain.

*We will definitely support cross-chain projects in the future, as long as they also have utility on the Ergo blockchain.*

**How will ErgoPad vet each project that it launches ?**

*Projects will be vetted based on the team, the uniqueness of the project, the use-case, how far along the project is, how much they expect to raise, and how likely the project is a good candidate for a token. If a project is a piece of software that doesn't necessarily benefit from the token IDO method, we may try to raise funds through our marketing but not necessarily a token IDO.*

**Can stake keys and vesting keys be sent to other wallets?**

*Yes! The system is designed to make those transferable. The token you receive, such as the Ergopad Stake Key or any Vesting Key is a unique NFT that represents your stake or vested tokens respectively. You are welcome to transfer these to any address you choose, or even trade them with someone.*

**Why is staking APY always going down?**

*Staking on Ergopad is set up with a linear distribution. That means that 321M tokens are split up over 3 years into equal daily emissions. Every day, 293k tokens are distributed evenly amongst all Ergopad stakers. This is compounded, so every day, the number of tokens staked are increasing by that amount. If more tokens are staked, and the emission stays the same, each staked token gets a slightly smaller distribution every day. If more tokens than 293k were unstaked daily, the APY would actually increase.*

**What is the benefits of having ErgoPad tokens ?**

*Having ErgoPad tokens grants access to the Ergo blockchain's first staking mechanism. Allowing your ErgoPad position to naturally grow over time to accelerate your growth to higher staking tiers. Conquering a staking tier grants you access to the first round of fundraising for every project launch we assist with. This round is known as the "staker round." Participants in this round will have reserved allocation on the lowest token price offering for each project launch.*

**Do I need to have ErgoPad tokens and reach a staking tier to participate in pre IDOs?**

*There are sometimes additional rounds before a DAOs IDO, known as the seed and strategic rounds. The signup for both these two public rounds are first come, first serve. Therefore no one will have a reserved allocation. However, those who’ve reached a staking tier will have early access to the signup/whitelist form. If the form fills during the early access window, the public form will not open.*

**How can i sign up or participate in pre IDO's?**

*For staker rounds, whitelist your address before the staker snapshot. After the snapshot, you will be airdropped whitelist tokens which represent the number of DAO tokens you can claim in that round. For other rounds, the whitelist form is first come first served, with an early-bird form for ErgoPad stakers. Once you have whitelist tokens, the contribution form will be open between specified dates where you can trade Ergo or SigUSD for DAO membership tokens.*

**Is my ErgoPad stake automatically counted for staker round snapshots?**

*No, you must whitelist before the staker round in order for your stake to be counted. Please keep in mind, a wallet can have more than one address. Make sure all your Ergopad stake keys are at one address and that you whitelist that address. Any that are at a different address will not be counted toward.*

**What are staking tiers?**

*Staking tiers are Ergopad's incentive structure for receiving larger allocations in initial DAO contribution rounds. The higher your staking tier is the more allocation you'll get for each staker round.*

**What is a stake key?**

*A stake key is simply an NFT(a token), that represents the event of your staking Ergopad. You will find it possesses pertinent information regarding your interaction with the staking smart contract. Such as, “original amount staked” “stake time” “token id” & “minting transaction id”. Our website can scan those stake tokens and extrapolate how many Ergopad tokens have been earned while staking.*

**I have reached a staking tier. Will I receive IDO tokens automatically?**

*No, each DAO that launches through Ergopad will release a token, and stakers are able to contribute Ergo or SigUSD to the DAO treasury in exchange for a number of tokens that represent DAO membership. Higher staking tiers will reserve a higher number of DAO tokens, but they are not distributed automatically.*

**Do I have to unstake everything, or can I unstake any amount?**

*Partial or full unstaking are both supported. You can unstake any amount you like, as long as your remaining stake is greater than the staking contract minimum of 10 ergopad.*

**What exactly are unstaking penalties?**

*If you choose to unstake your Ergopad tokens within the first eight weeks, some of those tokens will be burned. This is to prevent someone from staking the day before a snapshot and then unstaking the day after.*
